Leoric's Signet is a level 14 ring that is highly coveted by many level 60 players. If you didn't read our Diablo 3 Paragon Leveling Guide, you may be wondering what is so special about this ring. An image speaks a thousand words, so have a look at this:
The "Increase Bonus Experience by X%" was introduced in patch 1.0.4 and is of great use for people who want to level up faster when it comes to Paragon levels. If Paragon leveling does not interest you (or you don't mind leveling up slowly), there is also a very big monetary gain when it comes to selling these rings:
Like everything in Diablo 3 there is also a luck element when it comes to this ring. The higher the affix rolls, the more it is worth! Don't worry though, even the 20% ones sell for quite a lot.
After reading so many good things about this ring, you must be aching to know how to get it right?
I will tell you everything I know about how to get this ring, but know that there is nothing you can do to make this journey easy, only things to make it more effecient.
Let's get started shall we?
The first thing you need to know when it comes to Leoric's Signet is that it only drops in Act 2 Normal. Since most players farming this ring will be at level 60, you can easily one shot everything. Still, there are specific builds that are better for this job than others. For example, Monk players have found that by using Mantra of Conviction with the Submission rune, they can kill everything in 20 yards without even touching them. Neat huh?
Other players can make use of AOE (Area Of Effect) builds to help mow down the monsters faster.
Movement speed is also very valuable for our purposes. Movement speed is capped at 25%, so I suggest getting a pair of boots with 12% Movement Speed on them (quite cheap) and a Legendary item called Hammer Jammers. There are other items you can get like the Slave Bonds or the Wanderlust, but the pants also have gold find on them. According to the 1.0.4 patch notes, the Monk passive Fleet Footed allows you to bypass the 25% cap, effectively making you move 35% faster. Not sure if there are other skills that also do this. Remember that the faster you move, the more monsters you kill, and the more monsters you kill, the higher the chance for you to get the ring.
Gold Find and Gold Pickup Radius are also useful when farming this ring, which is why I recommend getting Goldskin. Gold Find allows you to get more gold per hour while Gold Pickup Radius helps you to clear the floor faster, thus reducing the chance of you not spotting a ring drop. Speaking of not spotting the ring, never take a Follower with you when farming. You will end up having to chase after them to see what they dropped, or choose to ignore them and risk missing a drop. It's a loose loose situation so leave them at the camp!
Magic Find is obviously the key element here. You should try to get 300% from gear when possible, so that at 5 Nephalem Valor stacks you will be sitting at 375% (which is the new cap as of 1.0.4). To get the 5 stacks as early as possible, I suggest you start out from the Blood and Sand quest which will have you traverse a lot of dungeons right off the bat. You can then finish up to Belial (or choose to skip him), and start again from Blood and Sand.
As a final note, both the Serpent Magus and the Writhing Deceiver are level 17 monsters. I am not 100% sure about this but I think they have the highest chance to drop this ring due to the fact that Leoric's Signet is also iLvl 17. Other monsters can drop it too, so don't worry.
